Salmon Balls with Creamy Avocado Sauce

For the Salmon Balls:

  • 1 2 lbs (450g) freshly cut salmon filet (skin removed)

  • Fresh parsley, 1/4 cup finely chopped

  • Fresh cilantro 1/4 cup, finely chopped

  • Half cup breadcrumbs (or almond flour for a gluten-free alternative)

  • 1 large egg

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • 1 tsp lemon zest

  • Black pepper and salt, to taste

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (for grilling)


For the Creamy Avocado Cilantro Sauce:

  • 1 ripe avocado

  • 1 cup of fresh cilantro chopped

  • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt (or sour cream for a thicker texture)

  • 2 Tbsp lime juice

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • Pepper and salt, as desired


How to Make Grilled Salmon Balls with Creamy Avocado Sauce – Step by Step

Step 1: Prepare the Salmon Mixture

Begin by cutting the salmon fillet, or process it in a food processor until it is coarsely chopped. In a large mixing bowl mix the salmon mince with chopped parsley, breadcrumbs, cilantro chopped garlic and smoked paprika the zest of a lemon, salt and pepper. Stir thoroughly until the ingredients are thoroughly integrated.

Step 2: Shape the Salmon Balls

Once the mixture is prepared make small portions and make balls of it around two inches wide. There should be about 12-14 balls, based on the size

Step 3: Grill the Salmon Balls

Prepare 2 tablespoons of olive oil inside a huge pan or grill pan at medium-high temperature. Place the salmon balls into the pan, and fry for approximately 3-4 minutes each and until they’re crispy golden and cooked. After cooking, remove them from the skillet, and set them aside.

Step 4: Prepare the Creamy Avocado Cilantro Sauce

To make the avocado sauce creamy Combine an avocado with fresh chopped cilantro Greek yogurt lemon juice and garlic with salt and pepper in the food processor. Mix until it is smooth and smooth. Check the seasoning and taste, and adjust as needed. If necessary, add additional lime juice or salt to make the flavor more balanced.

Step 5: Serve and Enjoy
